Two-Way Radio Appreciation: Thanks for Over 100 Years!
The year is winding to a close, and it feels like a good time to take stock of where we’ve been. For many of you, that might mean thinking about what you’ve done with your life this year—personal, professional, or otherwise. For others, it might mean tallying up a list of accomplishments or thinking about what you might like to do better in 2013. For us, it’s all about looking at the great things you can (and should!) do with two-way radios. That all starts with taking a quick look at the storied history of these unique little gadgets.
Did you know that the first two-way radio technology was available as early as 1907? Hard to believe that over 100 years have passed since the dawn of the two-way radio! By 1912 (that’s still 100 years ago!), military and commercial ships were equipped with two-way radios.
Boy, have we come a long way…
Since then, two-way radios have been used for a multitude of applications. These days, we think about two-way radios being used by security guards, industry workers, and folks in retail. Now, more than ever, we’re thankful for this unique technology and the ease it’s brought to our lives.
Here’s to another 100 years!
