Product Information

Motorola TLK 110: The Two-Way Radio Built for Nationwide Communication

The Motorola TLK 110 isn't your average two-way radio. It runs on 4G LTE via the WAVE PTX network, which means your team can communicate across cities, states, or the entire country—without ever losing signal. No range limits. No dead zones. Just clear, reliable push-to-talk communication wherever the job takes you.

Communicate Clearly, Every Time

Background noise on a job site can make radio communication frustrating and unreliable. The TLK 110 solves this with AI-based noise suppression that actively filters out ambient noise, so your message gets through even in loud, busy environments. Add hands-free VOX PTT—which activates only by voice—and your team can stay connected without ever reaching for the radio.

Built Tough. Designed to Last.

The TLK 110 is IP67-rated, meaning it's fully dustproof and can handle submersion in water up to 1 meter. It also meets MIL-STD 810H military standards for ruggedness and has been field-tested for up to 5 years of use. Backed by a 2-year warranty, this is a device built to deliver a strong return on investment.

Safety Features That Go the Extra Mile

Worker safety is built into the TLK 110 at every level:

  • Dedicated emergency button for instant distress alerts
  • Lone Worker monitoring to check on isolated team members
  • Man Down/Fall Alert that automatically triggers an alarm if a worker falls
  • GPS tracking so you always know where your team is

These features are accessible through the WAVE PTX SafeGuard subscription, making the TLK 110 an especially strong fit for teams operating in high-risk environments.

Manage Your Devices Without the Headache

Deploying and managing a fleet of radios has never been easier. The WAVE PTX administration portal lets you remotely configure, update, and manage all your TLK 110 devices—no need to physically collect them. With support for up to 96 channels and 1,000 contacts, scaling your communication network is straightforward.

Is The Motorola TLK 110 Right for Your Business?

If you’re wondering whether the TLK-110 is right for your business, you need to take a look at your industry and needs.

We’re not going to sit here and say that every business in the world should take the biggest and most advanced device on the market. Different companies have different needs, and it’s our job to match you up with the right device.

With nationwide coverage, the Motorola TLK-110 is perfect for industries that cover a lot of space. For example, truck drivers, delivery drivers, and traveling sales personnel can get a lot of use out of a radio with this all-encompassing coverage.

Police officers can also make great use of this device, as the last thing you want is an officer falling out of contact because they stepped outside the range of your radio network while responding to a call. It’s also a great option for domestic military bases.

Any business with a fleet of vehicles that have to go out on jobs could find a perfect match in the TLK-110. That includes plumbers, electricians, cable installers, landscapers, and construction companies.

Coverage & Connectivity

How far does the Motorola TLK110 reach?

Unlike traditional two-way radios limited by terrain or distance, the TLK110 operates over the nationwide 4G LTE cellular network via WAVE PTX. That means your team can communicate across cities, states, or the entire country—indoors or outdoors. Coverage may vary depending on local cellular network conditions.

Does the TLK110 work over Wi-Fi?

Yes. In addition to 4G LTE, the TLK110 supports Wi-Fi calling over 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. This gives you a reliable backup connection in environments where cellular coverage may be limited, such as large indoor facilities or basements.

Battery Performance

How long does the TLK110 battery last?

The TLK110 comes equipped with a rechargeable 2500 mAh lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 18 hours of use on a single charge—enough to power through even the longest shifts without interruption.

How do I get the best battery performance?

For optimal performance, charge your battery for 4 to 5 hours before first use. Batteries charge most efficiently at room temperature, so avoid charging in extreme heat or cold. Use only Motorola Solutions-approved chargers to stay within warranty terms and protect battery longevity.

How do I know when the battery is running low?

The battery level is displayed via an on-screen icon. A solid green LED indicates a high charge (80–100%), a solid red LED signals a medium charge, and a flashing red LED means the battery is critically low (under 5%). A lightning bolt icon appears on screen while the device is charging.

Security & Safety Features

What safety features does the TLK110 include?

The TLK110 is built with serious safety in mind—particularly for lone workers and high-risk environments. Key features include:

  • Dedicated Emergency Button: Press and hold to immediately declare an emergency and alert the right personnel. A 3-second countdown gives you the chance to cancel if triggered by mistake.
  • Lone Worker Monitoring: If no user activity is detected within a configurable time period, the radio automatically issues a warning tone. If the user doesn't respond, an emergency call is initiated to the designated contact.
  • Man Down / Fall Alert: Using an accelerometer, the TLK110 detects if the device has been tilted to an unusual angle or if movement has stopped. After a pre-warning tone, an emergency call is automatically placed if the situation isn't corrected.

These features are accessible via the WAVE PTX Safeguard platform and can be configured on a per-user basis.

How does the Lone Worker feature work?

When enabled, the Lone Worker feature starts a response timer in the background. If no button press or talkgroup activity is detected before the timer expires, the radio emits a warning tone and starts a reminder countdown. Should that timer also expire without a response, the device automatically places an emergency call on the user's behalf. Response times, reminder durations, and emergency contacts are all configurable through the WAVE PTX portal.

How does the Fall Alert feature work?

The Fall Alert (Man Down) feature uses the radio's built-in accelerometer to monitor the device's angle and movement. If the TLK110 is held at an unusual angle or detects that movement has stopped, it emits a pre-warning tone prompting the user to reposition the device. If no correction is made within the configured time, the WAVE PTX application automatically places an emergency call to the assigned group or contact. Angle, movement sensitivity, and alarm durations are all fully configurable.

Is communication on the TLK110 encrypted?

Yes. The TLK110 uses AES-256 encryption—one of the most robust encryption standards available—to keep all push-to-talk communications secure.

Durability & Build Quality

Is the TLK110 waterproof and dustproof?

Yes. The TLK110 carries an IP67 rating, meaning it is fully dustproof and can withstand submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

It also meets MIL-STD 810H military standards for ruggedness, making it a reliable choice for construction sites, outdoor events, and other demanding environments.

The radio has been field-tested for up to 5 years of use.

What temperature range can the TLK110 handle?

The TLK110 operates in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C (radio only) and -10°C to 60°C when used with the battery—suitable for both outdoor winter conditions and high-heat work environments.

Audio Technology

How does the TLK110 handle background noise?

The TLK110 uses AI-based noise suppression technology that actively filters out ambient background noise in real time. The microphone isolates speech while simultaneously reducing unwanted environmental sounds, and the wideband speaker ensures the audio on the receiving end is clear and intelligible—even in loud or busy settings. There are four levels of noise suppression available, with Level 2 set as the default. Suppression levels can be adjusted through the WAVE PTX portal to suit each user's environment.

Does the TLK110 support hands-free communication?

Yes. The TLK110 features Voice Operated Transmit (VOX), which activates push-to-talk by voice alone—no button press needed. Importantly, VOX on the TLK110 is voice-activated only (not triggered by ambient noise), so it remains reliable even in noisy environments.

Note: VOX is only compatible with VOX-enabled wired earphones, not Bluetooth accessories or internal microphones.

Device Management

Can I manage multiple TLK110 radios remotely?

Yes. The WAVE PTX administration portal allows you to remotely configure, update, and manage your entire fleet of TLK110 devices—without needing to physically collect them. From the portal, you can push software updates, set up talkgroups, program button shortcuts, adjust noise suppression levels, and configure safety profiles like Lone Worker and Fall Alert on a per-user basis.

How many channels and contacts does the TLK110 support?

The TLK110 supports up to 96 channels and a contact list of up to 1,000 entries, giving you the flexibility to manage large, multi-department teams with ease.

Accessories & Compatibility

Does the TLK110 support Bluetooth?

Yes. The TLK110 is Bluetooth-enabled and supports up to 3 simultaneous Bluetooth connections with different accessory types, including headsets, scanners, sensors, and PTT-only devices (PODs). Bluetooth operates within a 10-meter range. The radio is compatible with both Motorola Solutions and commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) Bluetooth accessories.

What accessories are available for the TLK110?

Motorola Solutions offers a full range of authorized accessories for the TLK110, including:
