How to Wirelessly Clone Your Motorola Curve Radios

Got one Curve set up exactly the way you like it? You can copy those settings to your other Curve radios over the air — no cables, no software, no computer. It takes about a minute per radio.

Before You Start

Source radio

The radio that already has the settings you want to copy.

Target radio

The radio you want to copy those settings onto.

✓ Start with both radios turned off.
✓ Make sure both batteries are charged.
✓ Keep the two radios close together while cloning.
✓ Listen for the voice prompts — they tell you you're on the right track.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Source radio

Put the Source radio into wireless clone mode

• Hold down PTT and Volume Down at the same time while turning the radio on.

• Keep holding for about three seconds, until you hear "Clone Mode Serial" — then let go.

• Press and release Volume Down once. You'll hear "Wireless"

Target radio

Put the Target radio into clone mode

• Hold down PTT and Volume Down at the same time while turning the radio on.

• Keep holding for about three seconds, until you hear "Clone Mode Serial" — then let go.

That's it for the Target radio — don't press Volume Down on this one. Only the Source radio needs to be switched to "Wireless."

Source radio

Start cloning

• On the Source radio, press and release Volume Up. You'll hear a tone as it starts sending the Profile ID Number.

• The Target radio receives the settings automatically.

• When it's done, both radios will announce the result:

"Pass"
Cloning worked. You're all set.
"Fail"
Cloning didn't go through. Move the radios closer and start again from Step 1.
Cloning more than one radio? Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 with each new Target radio.

All done? Take the Source radio out of programming mode

Press and hold PTT on the Source radio until you hear a beep. Your radio is back to normal and ready to use.
